This procedure is mandatory on every buffalo hunt and forms a fundamental part of the Pointer Big Game dangerous game protocol. Each hunting day begins with careful evaluation of available animals from a vehicle at a safe distance. Professional hunters assess individual bulls, evaluating horn development, boss maturity, body condition, and trophy quality before selecting a specific animal. This process is deliberate and never rushed. Identifying the correct animal before beginning the stalk is one of the most important decisions made during the hunt. Once the target bull has been selected, the hunting party approaches carefully from downwind, moving steadily into position. Buffalo are generally taken at shorter distances than most other Argentine big game species, allowing precise shot placement while maintaining immediate control of the situation after the shot.
