The red stag is the flagship species at Bonanza Ranch, offering exceptional trophy quality across both management and trophy-class animals. The March and April rut provides the most exciting hunting, with gold-medal trophy upgrades available for hunters seeking premier trophies.
The blackbuck's striking black-and-white coloration and spiraling horns make it one of the most visually spectacular trophies in the collection. It inhabits open areas of the ranch and presents a different challenge requiring longer-range shots across open terrain.
The distinctive palmate antlers of the fallow deer make it a popular trophy species for hunters seeking variety within a multi-species program. Multiple color phases are present within the Bonanza Ranch population.
The ranch also offers excellent opportunities to hunt exotic species, including European Mouflon, Multi-Horn Ram, Feral Goat, and Texas Dall Sheep.
Hunting at Bonanza Ranch is conducted primarily through spot-and-stalk methods across the bush and ravines of the Quehue Valley. One hunter and one professional hunter work together throughout the day in pursuit of the selected target species. Shot distances are typically under 150 yards in the thicker terrain, except when hunting blackbuck antelope where longer shots across open ground may be necessary. The hunting day begins with breakfast at the lodge, followed by a morning hunting session during prime animal activity. After lunch at the lodge, hunters return to the field for an afternoon session through the final hours of daylight before returning for cocktails and dinner.
Bonanza Ranch is one of the few Pointer Big Game properties fully equipped for bowhunting. The thick bush terrain creates excellent conditions for stand and blind hunting, while water holes provide additional opportunities during the drier months. All primary species, including red stag, water buffalo, blackbuck, axis deer, fallow deer, and wild boar, are available to bowhunters.
In addition to trophy hunting, Bonanza Ranch offers management red stag hunts for hunters who wish to participate in the wildlife management program of the estate. Management animals are typically older animals beyond their trophy prime whose removal benefits the overall herd. Important: Any game already wounded by natural causes prior to the hunt must still be paid for at standard trophy pricing if harvested.
The March through July season offers outstanding hunting opportunities across a wide range of species. Each month brings its own advantages, from the excitement of the red stag rut to late-season multi-species programs and combined hunting experiences.
March marks the opening of the Argentine big game season and the beginning of the red stag rut. All species are in excellent condition, and many of the year's finest trophies are taken during this period.
April extends the peak rut period and often produces the most consistent stag activity of the season. Buffalo, blackbuck, axis deer, and fallow deer all hunt exceptionally well during this month.
The post-rut period brings a more technical style of deer hunting as stags recover and return to regular movement patterns. Wild boar hunting reaches its peak as cooler temperatures increase daytime activity.

The closing month of the season offers a final window for all primary and additional species before the ranch closes for the year. Late-season animals are often more concentrated around available water and feed sources making them findable with patience. July also marks the beginning of the dove hunting season in the neighboring province making a combined big game and dove hunting trip a particularly natural combination for guests finishing a Bonanza Ranch program.
In La Pampa Province, the kitchen reflects the same authenticity and strength that define the hunting experience. The meat of red stag and water buffalo provides exceptional flavor, depth, and richness that can only come from truly wild animals. A European-inspired preparation that has become a signature of the region. Venison loin is wrapped in puff pastry with wild mushroom duxelles and baked to preserve its natural juices, then served with red wine reductions and premium Argentine wines.

Bonanza Ranch is located sixty-two miles from Santa Rosa City and approximately four hundred miles from Buenos Aires. The final destination is Santa Rosa Airport (RSA), followed by a ninety-minute ground transfer to the ranch. All international connections route through Buenos Aires Ezeiza Airport (EZE), followed by a transfer to Aeroparque (AEP) for the domestic flight.
Important: Allow a minimum of four hours between your international arrival and domestic departure. Aerolíneas Argentinas currently operates domestic service between Buenos Aires and Santa Rosa. Private charter flights from Buenos Aires to La Pampa are also available.
