Experienced fly fishing captains access exceptional Golden Dorado populations from comfortable motorized boats throughout the season.
Northern Patagonia has the largest variety of trout streams in Argentina and Maiten Lodge Neuquen sits at the center of all of it. Mountain cottages near the volcano in Caviahue with magnificent Andes views accommodate up to fourteen guests with access to rivers, creeks, lagoons, and mountain lakes across private land. All fishing is by wading. Waders must be brought by each angler. Loyalty rewards vouchers are included with every program.

El Maiten Chubut extends the Pointer Patagonian program south into the remote rivers and lakes of Chubut Province, one of the most untouched and spectacular fly fishing environments in the world. The extended season running through April gives anglers access to some of the finest and least pressured wild trout fishing available anywhere in Argentina.

Pointer’s dedicated year-round Golden Dorado fishing lodge on the subtropical Parana River system in northeastern Argentina. The only Pointer property where the Dorado is not a seasonal bonus but the entire purpose of the trip, available every month of the year with experienced local guides and comfortable motorized boats. Both fly fishing and spin fishing are available.
The Golden Dorado strikes with a violence and fights with a power that nothing else in freshwater fishing quite matches. Tarpon-like jumps, blistering first runs, and a brilliant golden coloration make it one of the great game fish of the world. Available year round at San Javier and Posada Uguay on two distinct sections of the Parana River system.
A century of living in the cold clean rivers of Neuquén and Chubut Provinces has produced wild trout of exceptional size, character, and selectivity. Technical dry fly streams, still water lagoons, and remote wilderness rivers are all within reach of our two Patagonian properties. Available November through April across both lodges.
San Javier Lodge is the only property in the Pointer collection where world-class wing shooting and world-class fly fishing share the same estate. The Cast and Blast combines high-volume dove shooting with Golden Dorado fishing on the Parana, available during the shoulder seasons of April and September through December.
