Nine lodges across four Argentine provinces and two countries. Five dedicated field scouts working daily across every hunting region. One outfitter. One standard. Everything South American wing shooting has to offer.

Four Species. Five Programs. Every Style of Wing Shooting Available in South America.

Five Dedicated Scouts. Four Provinces. Every Field Checked Every Day.

Our Field Intelligence Operation

The difference between good dove shooting and extraordinary dove shooting in Argentina comes down entirely to field intelligence. Pointer Wing Shooting employs five dedicated field scouts working daily across Córdoba, San Luis, Tucumán, Santa Fe, and our international lodges in Uruguay and Paraguay.

These scouts are in the field every single day of the hunting season, locating primary bird concentrations, monitoring roost activity and movement patterns, identifying the most productive field positions for each day’s conditions, and communicating that intelligence to our guides before your group arrives at breakfast

Two Guns Per Blind at Every Property. Zero Interruptions to Your Shooting.

The Two-Gun Policy

Every hunter at every Pointer Wing Shooting blind across all nine lodges has two guns managed by a personal field assistant throughout the day. If either gun jams or misfires the assistant swaps it immediately and takes the malfunctioning gun to the field camp for service without a moment of lost shooting time.

The high volume of shooting in the Argentine program puts more rounds through a gun in a single day than most shotguns see in years of normal use. Equipment issues are inevitable at this volume and our two-gun policy ensures they never interrupt your hunt.

All guns are cleaned and serviced once daily. This policy applies at every blind at every Pointer lodge without exception.

The Hunting Brings You to Argentina. The Table Is What Brings You Back.

The Cuisine

Every Pointer Wing Shooting program is built around the Argentine table as deliberately as it is built around the fields. The midday field asado with Argentine beef cuts grilled over open fire and Malbec wine is one of the great communal eating experiences available anywhere in the hunting world and it appears at every blind session across every property in the collection.

The evening meal at the lodge reflects the regional culinary tradition of each specific property. In Córdoba the Cordobés goat a la cruz slow-cooked for three hours over an open fire alongside dove tempura on arrival with Malbec and mushroom risotto with chimichurri dove.

In Tucumán clay oven empanadas, humitas en chala, and the ancestral sweets of the northern Argentine tradition at La Salamanca.

In Santa Fe the river fish preparations of the Parana, Dorado and Surubi grilled over wood, alongside duck in wild herb butter, pigeon milanesa, and partridge escabeche.

In San Luis the delicatessen cuisine program of the resort with gourmet Argentine and international dishes prepared nightly.

In Uruguay the fresh and distinctly Uruguayan kitchen of San Jose Lodge with the day’s harvest in crepes and pies.

In Paraguay the Argentine asado tradition carried across the border intact at La Plata.

Protecting the Resources That Make This Possible

Conservation

Pointer Wing Shooting was the first outfitter in Argentina to establish a formal conservation program specifically dedicated to the bird and wetland habitats that support our hunting programs.

Through our nonprofit Making Changes Now we fund ongoing biological research into dove populations, duck populations, wetland health, and the environmental factors that affect bird numbers across the provinces where we operate.

We support Ducks Unlimited, Delta Waterfowl, and the Coastal Conservation Association in the United States and we take the long-term health of the resources our guests come to experience as personally as we take the quality of the hunting itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

The right lodge depends on your group size, the species you want to pursue, the time of year you are traveling, and the character of experience you are looking for. Contact our team and we will identify the best match based on all of those factors and help you build the right program.

It depends on what you want to hunt. Dove is available year round across most of our lodges. Duck runs from May through July at the Buenos Aires Province and Santa Fe lodges. Perdiz runs May through July at the Santa Fe and Uruguayan properties. Pigeon is available year round at La Salamanca and San Luis and from January through August at San Jose in Uruguay. La Plata in Paraguay hunts from June through September. Our team will advise on the best timing based on your species priorities.

A standard program runs four nights with approximately three and a half days of shooting. Most hunters find this is exactly the right amount of time to experience the program fully without fatigue. Groups who want to combine multiple lodges or multiple species programs benefit from staying longer and our team can design a multi-lodge itinerary based on your available time.

Yes. Many guests bring their own shotguns and our team provides complete guidance on the Argentine, Uruguayan, and Paraguayan gun import documentation process. Twenty gauge is recommended across most properties though twelve gauge is available in the rental fleet at the Buenos Aires Province duck lodges. Contact our team before booking to discuss the import process for your specific situation.

All Pointer Wing Shooting programs include accommodations, all meals including the midday field asado, guide and field assistant service throughout every session, all guns and shells, and ground transportation to and from the field. International and domestic airfare, hunting licenses, guide gratuities, and personal items are not included.
